Our Aims and Objectives
1) To promote responsible dog ownership by:
a) Setting up and providing responsible dog ownership courses
b) Using practical training sessions as a medium for encouraging responsible dog
ownership
2) To provide dog training classes to all members of the community, whether they
own pedigree or cross breed dogs by:
a) Advertising the availability of such courses
b) Providing courses to suit all types of owners and their dogs
3) To only use experienced and knowledgeable trainers and instructors:
a) Trainers will have followed a recognised course of training and/or will have a
minimum of two years experience of
training dogs
b) Instructors will train prospective Trainers to agreed standards
4)To prevent the spread of infection between both dogs and humans by;
a) Only accepting vaccinated dogs at classes
b) Not allowing any dog who has been unwell in the previous seven days to attend
class
c) Promoting good personal hygiene, ie. Dogs not licking faces, washing of hands
after handling dogs or clearing up
fouling
d) Instructors and Trainers to have current Tetanus immunisation
5) To provide a reasonably safe environment for classes by:
a) Trainers and Instructors trained in resuscitation techniques and basic first aid
b) Ensuring owners keep their dogs under control
c) Recognising aggressive dogs and taking appropriate steps to prevent incidents
occurring
d) Heaters to have fire guards
e) Hall to be kept in reasonably good state of repair
6) To cater for the many aspects of dog ownership by providing:
a) Gundog classes
b) Ringcraft classes
c) Agility sessions
d)Obedience and Road safety courses
e) Responsible Dog Ownership course
